What is JazzCorner's VideoShare?
JazzCorner's VideoShare is a platform for sharing jazz and blues videos with the rest of the world.
To watch: Sit down, select a video, and launch the player! You can discover videos by channel, tag, user, features, most recent or most popular.
To share: Have a jazz or blues video? Have rare footage of a jazz master that's in public domain? Join JazzCorner's VideoShare, upload the video, and tag it so other users can find it.
To participate: Join a group! A group is a community of people who publish videos based on a common interest, theme, location, hobby, or whatever. There is only one rule, unleash your creativity!
How can I upload my videos to JazzCorner's VideoShare?
First, create an account, get verified, you log in, an "upload" link will appear on the top navigation bar. Click this. Browse your hard drive for the video you want to upload, select it, and press SEND. You can also upload directly from you webcam. The time it takes to upload your video will depend on your internet connection and the size of the video.
How can I delete a video?
Click "my space" at the top of the page to access your personal page. Next, scroll down to your videos and open the one you want to delete. In the video "Info" sidebar, click "delete video" and choose "yes". You may also select "edit video info" and press the delete button at the bottom of the page.
What is a tag?
Tags are keywords you add to videos to make them easier for you and others to find. The tagging process enables user-driven navigation within channels and throughout the site. For example, if you upload a video of Dizzy Gillespie playing in Europe to the "Trumpet Channel," and you could tag it "Gillespie, trumpet, Europe". and anyone on the site could find it by searching for any of your terms. You can also search tags by adding them to the site URL like this: "http://tv.jazzCorner.com/tag/trumpet+gillespie" etc. The more you tag, the more you share!
What is an RSS feed?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) helps keep users up-to-date with subscriptions to their favorite sites. When you subscribe to a site's RSS "feed" (using a "feed reader" or "aggregator"), you will be alerted every time it is updated. There are a number of aggregators available, both as desktop and web-based applications. With JazzCorner's VideoShare RSS feeds, you can subscribe to your favorite users or groups, so you will be notified whenever they add a new video. Can I use JazzCorner's VideoShare without creating an account?
Yes you can. You can watch all the public videos, but you won't be able to comment, add videos, or create groups, so come on and register!
Do I need to install anything in order to use JazzCorner's VideoShare?
To play videos on JazzCorner's VideoShare, the Macromedia Flash plugin must be installed on your computer.
Should I accept cookies from JazzCorner's VideoShare?
Cookies are not mandatory, but they allow us to remember your username so you won't have to login every time you want to use the site's features.
What should I do if I encounter a bug or a display problem on JazzCorner's VideoShare?
JazzCorner's VideoShare is still in development. Things are being changed, fixed and added on an almost daily basis. Though some of these changes may be invisible to the user, trust us, they are happening. All of the JazzCorner's VideoShare developers use the Mozilla Firefox browser, so there may be a few display bugs if you use Internet Explorer. Why can't I post comments on JazzCorner's VideoShare?
You must be logged in to JazzCorner's VideoShare to post comments to videos. Once you have registered an account, log in using the form in the upper right-hand corner of the site.
How do I create an account with JazzCorner's VideoShare?
Go to the registration page
Choose a username and password, and enter a valid email address.

No, your email address will NEVER be sold or given away to any outside parties.
How can I stay informed about new comments to my videos?
You don't have to do anything! Email alerts are activated by default. You will receive an email every time a new comment is added to any your videos. You also will be alerted each time a comment is added to a video that you have commented on.
How can I stop being informed about new comments to my videos?
You can deactivate email alerts by clicking on the link at the bottom of any JazzCorner's VideoShare notification. You can also deactivate alerts with your JazzCorner's VideoShare personal page: click "my account" on the navigation bar beneath your username, then click "Preferences" and uncheck the appropriate boxes.
How can I change my profile picture?
When you are logged in, access your personal page and click either "my account" (on the menu bar below your username) or "edit my account" (in the sidebar to the right) to access your profile settings. At the top of your profile is a field marked "avatar" – click the "browse" button next to it and select the image file you would like to use on your profile, then press "save". You must select a picture from a local drive – hyperlinks to online images will not work.
How can I contact another JazzCorner's VideoShare user?
Right now the only way to get in touch with other JazzCorner's VideoShare users is to leave a comment on one of their videos. Soon you will be able to contact other users through a JazzCorner's VideoShare mailbox.
Why is there no sound during video playback?
Be sure that the video player is not muted, and that its volume is sufficiently high. You may also need to check the sound settings of your computer. Unless it's a silent movie!
How do I delete a comment?
To delete a comment you left on someone else's video, view the video and click "delete" beneath your comment. You can also change your comment by clicking "edit".
How do I delete a group I created?
To delete a group you have created, visit the group page and click on "preferences", then click "delete group" beneath the "save" button.
Is it possible to download JazzCorner's VideoShare videos to my computer?
For legal reasons, it is impossible to download videos from JazzCorner's VideoShare. You can, however, add videos to your favorites, making them easy to find again.
What is a private video?
When you upload a video to JazzCorner's VideoShare, you can set it to private or public status. If you set your video to private status, other members will not be able to see it unless they are in one of your private contact lists ("friends", "family", etc).
Why does the video slow down or stop during playback?
Depending upon your Internet connection, some videos may take longer to load. Wait for your video to load fully (as represented by the grey progress bar within the video control slider) before playing it.
What should I do if I get an encoding error on one of my videos?
Encoding errors usually occur when you upload files that are not supported by the JazzCorner's VideoShare encoder. To avoid encoding errors, make sure that you upload only MP4, WMV, MPEG, AVI, DV, 3GP, MOV, ASF, or FLV files that are under 150 MB in size.
How can I remove my account?
To cancel your account, log in to JazzCorner's VideoShare and click "contact us" in the header to send a delete request. Please be sure to select the category "remove my account". We always appreciate feedback on why you chose to remove your account, so please let us know in the "comments" field. WARNING: Deleting your account is irreversible. All of your videos, favorites, and contact lists will be lost.
How can I change my username or email address?
When you subscribe to JazzCorner's VideoShare, your username is automatically associated with your email address. For security reasons, it is impossible to modify either without cancelling your account.
Why didn't I receive a confirmation email?
First, make sure that the confirmation email was not filtered to your spam box. If you are positive that you did not receive a confirmation email, don't hesitate to contact us. We will take the necessary steps.
